Cooper Terry is 20-year-old Sydney based dancer/choreographer specialising in contemporary dance. Cooper grew up in Mount Gambier, South Australia and began his performing arts tuition under Maria Slape at MJ Dance Studio. After training full-time in Classical Ballet from the age of 15, Cooper was lucky enough to secure a place in the Sydney Dance Company Pre-Professional Year 2016 where he trained for 18 months and graduated with a Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance).
Since finishing with the Sydney Dance Company PPY in 2017 Cooper has gone on to perform alongside Sydney Dance Company in many corporate events with partners such as David Jones and Carriageworks. Cooper’s choreographic and teaching career has certainly started to take flight as he tours around Australia both independently and as a Sydney Dance Company Teaching Artist, teaching workshops and choreographing for countless schools and institutions.
Cooper strives to continue learning throughout his career and experience all that the vast culture of performing arts has to offer. With a profound wealth of knowledge from his years of experience in various techniques and fields, Cooper is very excited to continue sharing his expertise with artists and teachers all around the globe.
